Having practiced yoga off and on for the past 4 years, I love walking into a yoga studio and placing my mat down on the hardwood floor to start working on my breathing. I am a shallow breather to begin with, so when I have to take long deep breaths for yoga, breathing is an extra challenge for me. But I enjoy it, I feel my body getting the oxygen it needs, I feel it feeding life into me.

90 minutes of stretching and sweating and I can feel my body getting stronger and healthier. I've been practicing again for about a month now, and I can already do push-ups which I originally couldn't do, stretch further, touch the floor with my hands, and thankfully breath easier! Yoga is my 'me' time. I do this for myself to help me concentrate, to release any tension, to work my body, and to meditate. It's a blissful 90 minutes.

If you're looking for a yoga studio, come meet me at Yoga for the People. It's a beautiful studio located close to Gastown, but its a by donation studio. I love it!

I wanted to photograph a stylized shoot and knew what I wanted it to look like but didn't know anyone who would fit the look I was going for. Thankfully my friend Erin did and we found our three models, who were just perfect! The girls were awesome, no FABULOUS to work with and I'm loving these. Seriously like they warm my insides! The concept was three girls out on a sunny day enjoying life and just hanging out in a forest. They decide to rest and take a nap and then dream playing dress up playing in the sun and being princesses. Ohhhh, it gets me excited just writing it out.

We did everything out in Derby Reach again, I'm in love with this location! Enjoy the images!

You'll notice right away the difference in her as soon as she gets a cupcake in her hand, smiles all around!

Her and I share a luve of reading, so I mentioned that she should bring her favourite book to the shoot as well, and oh gosh I luuuve the images of her reading...just simply stunning!

Boudoir shoots are about you, what makes you smile, feel sexy, and comfortable and I encourage everyone to incorporate that into their time with me.

Then I realized I should, I should write how I feel in this moment to remember where I came from and how I'm feeling.

My chest is tight and my breath is shallow that I find myself sighing every few minutes to try and settle myself. It's the feeling of being anxious and nervous, and as I search inward to find out why I realize it's nothing I can change. Because it is change that is coming that is making me anxious. I've been longing for this change for quite some time and am always excited at the prospect of it. But now the longing is slowly becoming a reality and I can feel the tides changing, the season making room for the other.

As I take another deep breath, I have to remind myself that I want this, that I want to move forward. I must move both feet forward and make room for the change at hand.

My chest is tight and my breath is shallow, and even though I find myself sighing every few minutes to try and settle myself I know eventually it will pass and the change will come.

And that is exactly what we did. We trucked out to Derby Reach Park, dragging a suitcase, a chair and window, as well as some other props with us as we went. There was a crew there filming and we got the strangest looks them, finally someone stopped us "Excuse me....but you just came out of the woods carrying a window and a chair...". We just kinda looked at them like it was a very average thing to do. Ha, it still makes me laugh!

I was so excited for her ideas and how she wanted to incorporate her husband into it even though she was doing the shoot purely for herself. Although, she did say she'll share the results with him!

So, enjoy the images of us in a beautiful meadow!

6 weeks!

In 6 weeks I'm going to be rolling my bags into the Vancouver International Airport to board a plane with la Mister for our trip to Australia! I'm so excited I can hardly contain my excitement as I have never been this far South! I have dreams of sandy beaches, surfing, exploring Sydney's Opera House, riding horses on the beach, visiting wonderful family in Perth, looking at cool architecture, and of course taking lots and lots of photos!

6 weeks!

I will be away from September 29 to October 20 learning Aussie lingo and basking in the sun as much as possible, if you'd like to book a session before I leave or after I get back, please contact me!

Scheduling her boudoir shoot a month in advance I knew she was excited about her big surprise, but the day of the shoot I get a text from her saying that her husband was planning on coming home early that night! We scrambled for about 3 hours with both our minds and hearts racing trying to find a way to divert him elsewhere, coming up with stories and the such but in the end she succeeded by just having him hang out with his brother! We pulled off the shoot without him coming home and she was able to hold it a secret for 2 months!

These are some of my favorite boudoir photos to date, and what I love more about them is that they were taken a place that is dear to her and her husband, their first home.

Talladega Nights was playing on the big screen we flirted our way to the end of the movie. I didn't think much of it, yes I liked you, but I wasn't going to think anything further then just playful flirting.

The next day you sent me an email and asked me out for dinner, my heart stopped then jumped for joy that you wanted to hang out with me. We went out and had a great time, you then told me you had a job interview coming up that was out of the country. I liked you, but once you told me that, I figured our relationship wouldn't go much further then me getting a free dinner from our date.

You went to the job interview and said it went extremely well. I knew that if you asked me I would move for you, I really liked you. 2 weeks later you called me your girlfriend and I met your parents. You got the job but turned it down and then 3 years later we got married.

4 years ago today we went on somewhat of a double date, I liked you, but now I love you and I don't know how I will ever top your best birthday present...me going on a double date with you!

It started with me super duper excited to celebrate one of my closest friend's bridal shower, but this is the embarrassing part ... I showed up an hour late! Yup, one whole hour! And the icing on the cake, I'm in the bridal party, you know wearing a pretty dress holding flowers! Great way to show your friend that you love her, show up an hour late to her party! Yup, hugely embarrassed. Let's just say I'm willing to pick gum off the bottom of the pews in her wedding venue if she asked me to do it to make it up to her.

Then on Sunday while dealing with with Saturday's failings, I tried setting up an auto-response for my email thinking I'd be all high tech, but in the process I ended up spamming everyone whoI've ever had correspondence with. Oh, and not just once, every single email they ever wrote to me! I can only imagine some people's inbox filled to the brim with my greeting to them.

Let's just say I wanted to crawl under a rock this past weekend to hide my blushing face from embarrassment! I'm so sorry if you were a recipient of my unintentional spamming, and I better get my nails in tip top shape just in case I'm asked to pick gum!

Mister, is the one who calms my fears, creates a place for my ideas and dreams to thrive, and who I love going on walks with no matter the weather. And to celebrate our love together, for being married a whole year, we decided to do a photo shoot of our own!

My mom's friend told me that every year since she's been married that she puts on her dress every anniversary, and I thought "I'm going to do that!". So, year one..complete with photos to prove it! Also, for our guest sign in at our wedding we didn't do a traditional book, photobook, or even a matte photo - we used something we love, wine. We got 6 bottles, that we will age and then open them at different times throughout our marriage. Year one, complete while enjoying some awesome cheese and photos!

We met at Rocky Point Park again and made our way towards The Old Mill Site, I love this area. You can only reach it when the tide is low but the Old Mill is now all decayed and quite destroyed that it's a great place to go exploring in. Gavin could hardly walk a foot without turning over the brick path looking for treasure and sea animals, crabs mostly. And I love the photos at the end, because they are all having such a fun time looking for crabs and just hanging out!

For me, I'm usually talking about filming something for a video and in today's case that was exactly what I was doing....but for the purpose showing off that thing that you put in an old style camera!

Today, we put together a little spoof of a video for the 12x12 Vancouver Photo Marathon that is coming up on September 12th and they asked me to run the show. Man, talk about pressure! But I think the overall video is going to be hilarious and I wanted to show you a few sneak peeks from today! I loved Morten's outfit!

August is usually full of camping trips, some windsurfing, and a wedding thrown in there to party it up a bit. But this year I knew I wasn't getting any of it cause we have no weddings in August and Mister is so busy that I knew there would be no camping or windsurfing either.

But thankfully today, I'm looking forward to August! I have 2 friends coming from out of town coming to visit, one who we get to celebrate her upcoming nuptials with a shower and a stagette, some time for more relaxation, hiking and possible kayaking trips, plus lots of coffee meet ups so I don't go crazy with no human interaction!

Thank goodness that dark looming cloud is giving way to a beautiful blue sky and a hot sun, August should be a happy month!!
