It's not very often I get to hang out with a family and take their photos and after months of trying to meet up and Gavin and his parents we finally got the chance to hang out again. I love this family, so laid back and carefree and so loving with one another!

We met at Rocky Point Park again and made our way towards The Old Mill Site, I love this area. You can only reach it when the tide is low but the Old Mill is now all decayed and quite destroyed that it's a great place to go exploring in. Gavin could hardly walk a foot without turning over the brick path looking for treasure and sea animals, crabs mostly. And I love the photos at the end, because they are all having such a fun time looking for crabs and just hanging out!

Meet little man Gavin and his awesome and loving parents:

Capturing the beautiful moments with a beautiful family and sharing them with us, bridges the gap between the provinces. Thank you for these.

I believe in constantly challenging yourself and pushing yourself forward; moving out of your comfort zone as some would say. So awhile ago I wanted to try my hand at something new...studio photography. Meaning: a light set up and a studio of some sort. Since my place isn't that big I couldn't do it at home, and I didn't want to rent a studio space (just in case my idea completely failed), so I decided to work out of my in-laws basement.

I knew I wanted to a cake smash and had a whole idea/look that I wanted to do. I'm just going to be honest...it didn't work out the way I wanted it to. My original backdrop was left at my previous shoot location and I wasn't able to get it back in time so I had to improvise. Thankfully I love the end product! It's a little bit darker then I intended, but I love it just the same.

Ariel was an awesome model and I looove working with her! At first she would have nothing to do with me until I brought out some bubbles, then she just became like butta! Then the cake! Oh gosh, she didn't know what to do with it and we had to force her to put her hand into it. But in the end as you can see, I think she liked the idea of eating something so sweet!

Enjoy!

Thank you Erin + Joel for letting me photograph your little babe again!

Zaya is a 'on the go girl', a girl with a mission and with a smile! She keeps her mom on her toes with her imagination, her laughter, and her questions. She'll ask a question, and you know she's got another one burning already.

Zaya and her mom traveled downtown for the their session, all the way out from the urban burbs and it was such a delight to watch Zaya's eyes light up as we walked up and down towering streets and watch the locals running from one meeting to another. Although I think her eyes danced with excitement once I brought the bubbles out, she just wanted the bubbles. So cute!

Meet the adorable and lovable Zaya...(don't you just love that name?!):

Can't wait till I see those two again!

We walked along the gravel pathway with the sun glowing brightly surrounded by the beautiful ocean, the snow capped mountains, and the towering trees. You could hear the birds chirping peacefully in the distance, but mostly you were drawn in by the sounds of love between a wife and husband, a mother and father telling beautiful tales of the magic forest where the beautiful princess lives.

With their fingers entwined, they continued walking, showing their daughter where the largest magic tree resides; discovering a white feather they tell her that this is what the wicked witch will turn into if she smiles. She is completely enthralled with their stories! He picks her up, her legs swinging wildly into the breeze describing how beautiful the princess is (which is the perfect description of the little girl giggling in the nook of her dad's neck), then with wide eyes she looks over at her mom and exclaims "Mom, I found the prince!!" and kisses her dad's head.

As the sun sets, the white feather and magic forest forgotten, he entwines his fingers with his wife and daughter pulling them close.  She may have found her prince, but he found the rarest jewel - two beautiful hearts full of love and laughter with eyes only for him.
